We Need Summer Volunteers!
volunteer opportunities for fox hill prairie and timmer’s nature preserve
Looking for a great way to spend time outdoors while helping the Cedar Lakes Conservation Foundation? Or a way to get to know the CLCF community and perhaps learn something about your local and native flora and fauna?
Volunteering at CLCF Prairie Work Days at Fox Hill and Adopt-A-Tree Care Days at Timmer’s Nature Preserve is just the answer!
FOX HILL – Prairie Work Days
When: Tuesdays – August 8, 2017; and September 26, 2017
Time: 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Where: Fox Hill Prairie – meet at Klingler Memorial Rock. The pull-out parking lot is on the east side of Hwy NN opposite Timmer Bay Road in the Town of West Bend.
The Fox Hill Prairie, planted in 1999, is part of the larger Fox Hill property. You’re invited to join us as we work together to remove invasive species. Bring gloves and clippers if you have them; some tools will be provided. A light snack and refreshments will be provided. Visit our volunteer page to sign up for this opportunity or call Mary Krueger at (262) 338-0539.
Volunteers are welcome every Friday at 1 PM, weather permitting, to help care for the newly planted trees at Timmer Nature Preserve. The cover crop of oaks has grown up around the seedlings. Stakes with tree tubes attached will protect the young trees from browsing deer and other wildlife. Staking newly planted oak trees on the Timmer Preserve: Jared Schellinger, Ben, Ahren, Mary, and Lee Krueger.
